Pyynikki Observation Tower is one of Tampere's most iconic landmarks, offering a breathtaking view of the city and its surroundings. The 26-metre-high red granite observation tower was opened in 1929 and designed by Vilho Kolho. The entrance fee to the observation tower is 2 euros for adults and 1 euro for children aged 4-15 years. The observation tower offers picturesque views over both of Tampere's large lakes, Pyhäjärvi and Näsijärvi, all the way to the surrounding municipalities. The place is understandably one of the city's most popular tourist destinations. For those looking for excitement, there is a suitable activity available, which would be the rope descent down from the observation tower! Located at the foot of the observation tower, Pyynikin Munkkikahvila has been a family business for over 30 years. Both the monk café and the observation tower are open every day of the year. Here you will find delicious doughnuts whose reputation is known throughout Finland and also worldwide! The excellent taste of the doughnuts is indicated by the fact that the place has won the Best Tampere Cafe 2022 vote. The café has won the title nine times in total. There is plenty of nature and outdoor activities around the tower, so you can combine admiring the viewpoint with a nice walk. Pyynikki Nature Reserve was established in 1993 in order to protect the unique ridge complex. Mini golf and a beach are also nearby. The rotating auditorium of Pyynikki Summer Theatre is a unique experience! BOOK A TRIP What do you think about Onnibus? Give us Feedback Freshest news and travel tips What's New
