Seinäjoki is best known for its expanses and major summer events, Tangomarkkinat and Provinssi. Tangomarkkinat has been held in Seinäjoki since 1985, and people have also come from abroad to listen to Finnish tango over the years. The most successful year of the event has been 1999, when there were more than 130 thousand visitors. The Provinssi has also been organised annually for over 40 years. Provinssi is a three-day music festival featuring both Finnish and foreign artists. In Seinäjoki, you can admire the work of Alvar Aalto, a respected Finnish architect. Many of the buildings in the city were designed by Alvar Aalto. These include, for example, a church called Lakeuden Risti and the City Hall. The Duudsons are also well-known people from Seinäjoki and they have been performing for over 20 years, performing the wildest stunts. Shop at Ideapark, where you will find more than 100 shops under one roof. When you're hungry, you can also enjoy a delicious meal at Ideapark. Rytmikorjaamo is one of Finland's most popular concert venues and is located only 1.5 km from the centre of Seinäjoki. Top concerts are held weekly at Rytmikorjaamo.
