They craved adventure and fame – anything but an ordinary, dull, and dusty life! Above all, they wanted to be something. From these elements, a world-famous legend was born, Bonnie & Clyde, and in the summer of 2024, this story will be told in musical form at Samppalinna Summer Theatre. This globally super-popular work, voted the best new musical on London's West End in 2023, is now seen in Finland for the first time – and of course, in the Samppalinna Summer Theatre, known for its surprising premieres! The main roles of Bonnie and Clyde feature Marketta Tikkanen, who charmed as Amélie at Turku City Theatre and is known for various theatre, TV, and film roles (including The Unknown Soldier), and Karlo Haapiainen, currently praised as the Emcee in Cabaret at Kouvola Theatre. Making a much-anticipated return to Samppalinna is actor-singer Maria Lund, known for numerous musical roles and who recently charmed the entire nation again on the show Tähdet, tähdet! Lund will be seen in a key role as Blanche. Her counterpart, making his Samppalinna debut as Buck, is the charismatic musical expert Jonas Saari, who has charmed in lead roles in Turku City Theatre's The Bridges of Madison County and Helsinki City Theatre's Dance of the Vampires.
