Snellman Home MuseumThe philosopher and statesman Johan Vilhelm Snellman (1806–1881) served as the principal of the upper elementary school in Kuopio from 1843 to 1849. During his Kuopio years, J. V. Snellman met Johanna Lovisa Wennberg, the daughter of a local pharmacist. The couple were married in 1845. At the Snellman Homeland Museum, you can explore the couple’s first shared home. The Home Museum is only open annually on Snellman's Day on May 12th and for groups by appointment - reservations from the Kuopio Quarter Museum.
