OnniBus, Tallink and Lux Express have together created travel chains that combine bus and ferry journeys from Finland to several of the most popular destinations among Finnish travelers. Thanks to these new connections, passengers can now travel from their hometowns to Riga in Latvia, Kaunas or Panevėžys in Lithuania, and to Warsaw, the capital of Poland. The entire travel chain can be booked easily via the OnniBus website or app. The journey starts on an OnniBus coach from several Finnish cities to Helsinki’s Kamppi terminal. From there, an OnniBus shuttle bus takes passengers directly to Tallink’s West Terminal 2, where the ferry departs for Tallinn. From Tallinn, the journey continues with Lux Express directly to cities such as Riga, Kaunas, or Warsaw. The journey has been designed to be smooth from start to finish – and is bookable with a single ticket through the OnniBus online store. “We want to offer our customers seamless travel – now also internationally, in collaboration with our partners. This summer it's easy and affordable to go on an international summer trip, and the entire travel chain can be booked from one place through the OnniBus online store. You can travel from, say, Kuopio to Riga and buy all your tickets in one go,” says OnniBus CEO Joona Hurmerinta. “Some people choose the bus for the scenery and relaxing travel, others for the price. Many value the simplicity – no airport lines or parking hassle. The trip starts close to home,” Hurmerinta continues. International travel chains for summer 2025: Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland The international destinations of the new travel chains by OnniBus, Tallink and Lux Express include: Riga, Latvia – The Old Town, vibrant cultural scene, and the nearby beaches of Jūrmala make Riga a perfect weekend destination. Kaunas and Panevėžys, Lithuania – Kaunas is known for its modernist architecture and culture, while Panevėžys offers authentic local life and a calmer atmosphere. Warsaw, Poland – A dynamic capital that combines historical sights with an urban pulse. OnniBus summer updates: Port connections, premium buses, and event partnerships During spring and summer 2025, OnniBus has launched several updates and improvements. “In spring 2025, we conducted a customer experience survey and received over 14,000 responses from OnniBus users. We’re using this valuable feedback to develop our services. The new partnerships and launches this season are good examples of this,” says Hurmerinta. OnniBus now operates shuttle connections between Kamppi bus terminal and both West Terminal and Katajanokka ferry terminals in Helsinki. Transfers between long-distance coaches and port shuttles at Kamppi have been made easy – with daily luggage assistance available. Booking trips to Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland is now simple – bus and ferry segments can be booked together at OnniBus.com or in the OnniBus app. On June 4, OnniBus announced the launch of a premium bus concept on the Helsinki–Turku, Helsinki–Jyväskylä, Helsinki–Tampere, and Helsinki–Kotka routes. Ticket sales began June 4, and premium service starts June 19 on the Helsinki–Turku and Helsinki–Jyväskylä lines. On August 11, Helsinki–Tampere and Helsinki–Kotka will also be included.
