Our holiday in Finland continues next with some of the best music venues in the country. Music is best enjoyed live, be it in a large concert hall or in a small underground club. This next top list could have been compiled from venues in Helsinki alone, but for fairness’ sake we also gave love to some gems of other Finnish cities. Fasten your seatbelt and read on to find out where your next memorable gig experience awaits! Logomo, Turku Turku's most versatile event centre is a mixture of new and old – the facade of an old trainyard workshop creates a fun contrast with the completely modernised interiors. Logomo is suitable for a wide range of events, from theatre performances to fairs and film screenings. Concerts have always been at the heart of the action, and Logomo's stage has previously been taken over by artists such as blues legend John Mayall and Amorphis, one of the top bands in Finnish metal music. In 2021 Logomo will again host a number of interesting concerts, such as The Music of Hans Zimmer and Others, a concert dedicated to film music. Logomo is a convenient gig destination for OnniBus passengers, as the event centre is just a 10-minute walk from Turku Bus Station. Kerubi, Joensuu Kerubi, also known for its local cuisine, is on our list of best music venues in Eastern Finland. Combining a dinner and a gig here is easier than in any other destination on our list. Kerubi’s spring repertoire includes Finnish metal band Battle Beast taking the stage in April, while in the autumn Kerubi will be visited by the renowned Swedish metalcore band Dead by April. Kerubi is also a very practical destination for a bus traveller. Located in Ilosaari, the building is just a few minutes' walk from our Itäranta stop. Lutakko, Jyväskylä From Joensuu, our journey continues to Central Finland before it is time to turn back towards the south. Our bronze medal winner is Lutakko, which has become Jyväskylä's most famous oasis of live music in its 30 years of operation. High-quality sound and lighting, as well as an original underground atmosphere, make Lutakko a music venue worth visiting on a holiday in Jyväskylä. At the end of the year, Lutakko will host several interesting gigs from different genres. The world-famous country band Steve 'n' Seagulls, originally from Jyväskylä, will treat the audience in October with their unusual cover versions of rock classics. On the same weekend, Sonata Arctica stops in Lutakko on their 25th anniversary tour. Lutakko gigs are perfect for a budget traveller, as for most gigs you can get a ticket for 20 euros or cheaper. Pakkahuone, Tampere The head of our red bus will next turn south as the trip continues to Tampere. Located in the heart of the city centre, Tullikamarin Pakkahuone is one of Finland's leading concert venues and a diverse cultural stage. The red brick building, which is over 100 years old, creates a historically spectacular setting for live music. Heavy rock fans will be pampered in April with the gigs of Finnish bands Mokoma and Kotiteollisuus. The autumn repertoire’s most prominent performer is without a doubt Steve Hackett, best known as the lead guitarist of Genesis in the 1970s. After enjoying a gig in Pakkahuone, head towards the nightclub side, where afterparties continue up to 5 a.m. with local DJs. Tavastia, Helsinki There is only one option for the last stop on our music-filled holiday: Helsinki's legendary Tavastia Club. In 2020, Tavastia celebrated the 50th anniversary of operation, which speaks volumes about Tavastia's position in the canon of Finnish music venues. Even by European standards, Tavastia is one of the oldest rock clubs still to operate. In 2021, October would be a particularly good month to visit Tavastia if you have plans of travelling to Helsinki. Danko Jones, William Duvall of Alice in Chains and All Them Witches provide some much-needed boost before the approaching winter. Tavastia is located just a short walk from the Kamppi bus terminal. If live music is your thing, OnniBus will help you reach the best gigs Finland has to offer. Book your seat on OnniBus.com and get ready to experience the best music venues in the North!
