At the end of the summer 2023, it's time to take a look at the next year’s events for some of the best (and strangest) 2024 has to offer. Our next top 5 list includes some of the most interesting events of the year across the country, from January to the end of summer. A couple of festival classics were included in our list, but there were also a few more special acquaintances. Grab these tips for your next holiday in Finland and mark the dates from your calendar! 5. Hobby Horse Championships, June, Seinäjoki The first event on our list is perhaps also the most peculiar one. Hobby horses have grown in popularity in Finland and enthusiasts also have their own registered association, the founder and organiser of this event. The production of hobby horses is actually a prestigious craft, and the sport itself combines play with a suitable level of seriousness. The concept is difficult to explain, it's better to experience it yourself. So, book your OnniBus ticket to Seinäjoki, and discover the secrets of hobby horses yourself! 4. Matka Nordic Travel Fair from January 19 to 21, Helsinki Our next event is the largest travel industry event in Northern Europe. Programme includes presentations on the latest travel and tourism trends. The visitors can ask help for planning the trip. You will be guaranteed to find your perfect vacation. And don't forget to taste different food from all around the world! With the same ticket you can visit also the Caravan 2024 event. 3. Sleep Outdoors, August 24, Whole Country The best experiences can often be enjoyed quite cheaply – this applies as much to travelling by OnniBus as it does to the third event on our list. Late summer is the best time to try outdoor life for at least one night by participating in the Sleep Outdoors event. As its name suggests, the event encourages you to spend the night outdoors, in accommodation of your choice. Tents and lean-tos are probably the choice of most participants of this event. The most important thing is to pack enough water and food, warm clothing, and a sleeping bag. Affordable and relaxing whether you’re travelling alone or with some company! 2. Pori Jazz from July 12 to 20, Pori Pori Jazz is one of the most legendary festivals in Finland and thus deserves the second place on our list. The event, which has been running since 1966, gathers a broad selection of artists for all lovers of rhythm music. The main concerts at Kirjurinluoto will feature both Finnish performers and internationally renowned artists. 1. Flow Festival from August 9 to 11, Helsinki It is difficult to select a single best event from all the great choices Finland has to offer. But we must make a pick, so here it goes. Our winner is Flow Festival, which has become an iconic celebration of music and urban culture in a relatively short time (organised since 2004). An extensive program of music and art has been Flow's strength for years, and naturally the location in the capital makes it easy to attend the event. Flow Festival's food selection is also something quite different from the usual festival selection of burgers and other fast food. You can get that as well, but in previous years the restaurant stalls on site have also served sushi, local food, trendy street food and Michelin-level dishes. As you can see from our top list, Finland has all kinds of events from spectacular martial arts to the chill atmosphere of urban festivals. What most of these events have in common is that they can be easily and affordably reached onboard OnniBus.com.
